God's Love Is Never Ending
This is the Story behind the writing of God's Love Is Never Ending.
The Story
It was on November 13, 1995 when the inspiration for this song came forth.
I had a make-shift music studio [jam spot is more like it] in one-half of the garage at a place we were renting. I had closed in one side, with old blankets and plastic, and installed a wood-stove to at least knock off the chill. Actually, after about an hours time, it got warm and comfortable.
On this particular morning, as I was standing at the kitchen sink looking out the window, I noticed a chipmunk running across the top of the board fence on the property line. Also when I walked out to go to the garage, I saw deer off in the distant field.
Well, as I was starting a fire in the stove, I pondered on those things that were seen earlier and started thinking in my mind how to put them in a song. Soon enough, after prayer, the words of creativeness started flowing. But shortly, I ran out of words to write. I mean, how many things can you say in a song about a few deer and a chipmunk! So I stopped for a few and started thinking about the many things in God's Creation that were catching to the eye and ear.
EVERYTHING!
As I pondered on the beauty of God's Creation, the juices started flowing again. I remembered the frost that morning, the many sunrises and sunsets I've watched; the birds at the bird-feeder. When I thought about the birds at the feeder, I remembered the scripture about the sparrow that fell to the ground. I remembered the chickens and roosters we used to have, when I was a kid. I remembered the frogs croaking in spring and summer-time; how that cricket chirping the other night drove me half nuts, as he sang his gentle song.
All of these things in God's Creation, and more, became the inspiration for this song.
You know, when you are feeling a little down and out, just STOP! Sit down, close your eyes, and ponder on the beauty of God's Creation.
All of it!
The gentleness and calmness of a flowing stream, the sound of nature all around you. The coolness of a summer breeze. All these things and more are the Love of God all around you.
Be blessed by it.
Always remember:
GOD LOVES YOU
